From Tampa about 2 hours, three ways to get there:

ROUTE I
There are lots of back roads without good signage, so be on a close lookout for the turns. Take your map, as most of these roads should be visible on the map:

• From Tampa take I-75 South to the Apollo Beach exit; exit going East (away from Apollo Beach).
• Go @ 1/2 mile to 301 and make a right, going south.
• Go about 1/2 mile and turn left on SR 672. This road has a landfill off of it so you may see signs for the landfill.
• Go out 15 minutes until this road ends at @ SR or CR 39 and turn right. You'll be in Picnic or Balm.
• Go through the next light which is a four way stop. You're in Ft. Lonesome;
• You'll travel for 10-15 minutes until this road dead-ends at a light which is SR 62. Turn left.
• You'll see a sign for Wauchula (24 miles I think). Follow this road until you hit Hwy 17.
• Turn right on 17 (South). Go through Wauchula. Go past Hwy 64A, which is main street, Wauchula State Bank on left. Keep going through town toward Zolfo Springs. Next light should be SR 64, but don't turn here.
• A few hundred yards past SR 64 is SR 66 where you need to turn left. The sign is hard to see and is on your right. (You've missed it if you end up in Arcadia, which is where SR 70 cuts through).
• Stay on SR 66 going east for about 25-30 minutes.
• Turn right or South on US 27. You're now headed toward Lake Placid.
• Go about 10 miles. Go past the Hospital on your right. The SECOND Citgo Station is where you need to turn right. This is Lake June Road.
• After turning right make an immediate left onto CR 17 North which takes you on the North side of the lake.
• Go around the corner and our house is about 6 houses down on the right.
• 1236 CR 17 North. Two story, stone house with semicircular drive.

ROUTE II
If this seems like too many back roads, you can take I-275 South to SR 64 and head East. Then turn right on Hwy 17 and pick up the directions at number 9.

ROUTE III
Take SR 60 to Hwy 27 and go south. Go through Lake Wales, Avon Park, Sebring. Pick up directions at number 13 which is where Hwy 27 and Hwy 98/SR 66 intersect.

From Orlando about 2 hours

• Take I-4 West toward Tampa and take exit number 23, towards HAINES CITY/CLERMONT . Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp. Turn RIGHT/South onto US-27 S.
• Go through Dundee, Avon Park, Sebring. Just past Sebring you will see the Hwy 98/SR 66 intersection with Hwy 27. From this point it is about 10 miles to Lake June (our lake) in the town of Lake Placid.
• You will see Citgo station at Lake Josephine on your right. Continue on until you pass a hospital on your right (you are almost there) then you will see another Citgo Station. Turn right. This is Lake June Road/Interlake Blvd
• After turning right make an immediate left onto CR 17 North which takes you on the North side of the lake. (if you miss this turn, you will go under an overpass and end up in the town of Lake Placid, which is about 1 mile from here)
• Go around the corner and our house is about 6 houses down on the right.
• Address: 1236 CR 17 North (although the address is not visible). Two story, stone house with semicircular drive.
